Drag Rudiments
(Part 1)
Drag
To easily understand how to play a drag, just think about a flam, but instead of playing one Grace Note, you should play two. In other words, the drag consists of two grace notes played with the same hand. Therefore this rudiment is played with a drag before the primary note.
Single Drag Tap
The Single Drag Tap is simply a Drag followed by the primary stroke, and then one accented note. It is played by alternating hands after each primary note.
Double Drag Tap
The Double Drag Tap is played as two consecutive drags, each one played with a primary note and the same hand, followed by one accented stroke.
Lesson 25
Single Dragadiddle
Lesson 25 consist of three strokes played by alternating hands. Also, there is a drag before the first note, and the third stroke has an accent.
It is just like a Single Paradiddle, but the first note is an accented drag (without the primary note). In order words the Single Dragadiddle consists in an accented drag, followed by a single stroke of the opposite hand, and ends with a diddle.
